Salem State University Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies

The Salem State University Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies is a research, educational and community center aimed at combatting racism, prejudice, antisemitism, ethnic hatred and abuse of authority—the root causes of mass violence and atrocities. Your donation to the CHGS is needed now more than ever to support our programs that reach thousands of K-12 and college students, teachers, faculty. law enforcement agencies, political leaders and members of the community.

Your generous donation will support:

  • Sonia Schreiber Weitz Series – presenting free public lectures to the community from leading international and national scholars, educators and human rights advocates.
  • Teaching Difficult Topics Curriculum and Teaching Workshops – providing professional development and innovative pedagogical strategies for middle and high school teachers on topics including the Holocaust and comparative genocide, immigration, civil rights, LBGTQ+ issues and sexual harassment.
  • Holocaust Legacy Partners Program – sending CHGS-trained speakers into classrooms and the community to tell the story and lessons from an individual Holocaust and genocide survivor ensuring that we do not lose this valuable history.
  • Graduate Certificate in Holocaust and Genocide Studies – providing advanced graduate training for educators, community organizers and non-profit leaders who seek to lead their institutions on issues of human rights.

And much, much more!
