| Salem State Student Voting Rate Exceeds National Average |
|
Amid national reports of an increase in college student voting, Salem State University’s mid-term election student voter rate in 2018 reached 47 percent, exceeding the 39 percent national average!
“We not only want students to be voters, but to be informed on issues and to feel empowered to influence their communities through voting and other forms of advocacy,” said Cynthia Lynch, director of the Center for Civic Engagement at Salem State.

We are proud to share that this academic year, the Salem State University Foundation transferred $572,382.67 for 158 scholarships awarded to students!
We will honor donors who have established scholarships in support of our students, as well as congratulate students who have received these awards at the Annual Donor and Scholar Reception on November 22.

We are proud to honor our nation’s service members, veterans and their families with Salute to Service Month at Salem State! We’ll be hosting a number of events throughout November, including:
- Salem State Military Bowling Night
- Friday, November 22, 6 pm | Derby Lanes at Flatbread Salem. Learn More!
- Salem State Athletics Military Appreciation Nights
- Saturday, November 16, 2 pm | Men's Ice Hockey vs. Fitchburg State
- Saturday, November 23, 1 pm | Women's Basketball vs. Curry College
- Tuesday, November 26, 7 pm | Men's Basketball vs. Gordon College
In honor of Salute to Service Month, please consider making a gift to support the Student Veteran Organization (SVO) annual trip to the Student Veterans of America National Conference and other expenses. The SVO’s mission is to encourage student members to become stronger leaders and better advocates for the military-connected population on campus!
